Built in 1858 and automated in 1983, the Point Betsie Lighthouse marks the southern entrance to the Manitou Passage. This lighthouse is the second most photographed lighthouse in the United States, and it is still in operation.

Old Mission Point Lighthouse
Located 17 miles (27 km) north of Traverse City, the Old Mission Point Lighthouse was constructed in 1870 at the end of Old Mission Point. Though no longer in operation and not offering tours, the lighthouse's grounds feature a park, beaches and historical exhibits.
